As'salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh!

I am pleased to announce that on Wednesday 3rd March, our new committee officials were elected:

The President: Br Aqib Chohan
Vice President: Sr Maryam Sultan

I pray that Allah (swt) guides them in their endevours and rewards them for their sincere efforts (inshaAllah)

" I praise Allah azza'wa jal for the work that we as a society were able to carry out with His permission and seek His forgiveness for any wrong doing on our part. I hope that all those who contributed towards or attended events and activities, found them beneficial and enjoyed them. We have achieved, as a society, many of our objectives and did our level best to provide a variety of events which would be beneficial to students and the wider community.

I would like to say a big thank you to all of our members and all those who attended our events, and also a big thank you to staff and administration at the Chaplaincy and the University's Student Union, to our sponsors as well as anyone and everyone eho supported us in achieving our aims.

JazakumAllahu khairan to the committee who helped organize the events and worked tirelessly around the year to make them happen (and for puting up with me!).

Despite the successes of this year, we are far from perfect, and there are many things which can be improved upon and yet many more avenues which are yet to be explored. I hope and pray that next years committee will be able to take ISocEd to new heights, bi'idhnillah, and I wish them every success in this life and the next inshaAllah.

I would also like this opportunity to remind everyone that all goodness is from Allah and I ask everyone's forgiveness if I have ever wronged them or hurt them unintentionally, brothers and sisters please take me to account before Allah does.

BarakAllahu feekum,

Saira Aslam

Outgoing President 2009/2010
